The first presidential election under the 2010 Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic was held on Sunday. The Electoral Commission is reporting the following result:

Almazbek Atambayev (Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan), 63.2%
Adakhan Madumarov (United Kyrgyzstan), 14.8%
Kamchybek Tashiev (Ata-Zhurt), 14.3%

There were 14 other candidates, but none won more than 1 per cent.

So, the election has been won by Almazbek Atambayev, who is currently the Prime Minister.
